Citizens residing in South Los Angeles involved with the criminal justice system face many obstacles in accessing quality reintegration; supportive services. Those obstacles include lacking health care, job skills, education, and stable housing. Justice-involved individuals reintegrating into South Los Angeles often have lengthy waiting periods before attaining benefits and receiving services and, too often, return to drug use, criminal behavior, or homelessness when these obstacles prevent access to needed services.

The Chances 4 Change Re-Entry Resource Center was established solely to provide peer-
delivered re-integration and supportive services to justice-involved citizens residing in South
Los Angeles; a one-stop hub that addresses the unique needs of these individuals and
connects them to direct services that are comprehensive, evidence-based, client-centered, and
informed by the experiences of people with justice involvement. This workspace provides
comprehensive supportive services that include but are not limited to case management,
employment preparation, housing stabilization, behavior modification, personal growth, skill
development, and peer mentoring. To ensure that justice-involved citizens in South Los Angeles have full and equal access to opportunities that enable them to lead healthy; productive lives, reduce recidivism, and
improve public safety.
